Welcome to the home of The Bureau, the University of Maryland's only all-purpose comedy group. We perform sketch, stand-up, and improv comedy, as well as music and video that we often put up on the site. We have a blog that is updated often by our group members. - 4/23/08 - The Bureau Presents: MAYDAY! MAYDAY! A two night comedy extravaganza! Join us on May 1st for a night of Sketch Comedy featuring special guest, FAUX PAZ in Colony Ballroom of Stamp Student Union, and again on May 3rd for our Standup & Improv show! - 3/11/08 - The Bureau swept the University of Maryland regional in the The 5th Annual District's Funniest College Competition. Kevin Doran and Dave Smith were chosen from 15 stand-up contestants to represent Maryland in the finals at the DC Improv on April 16. - 03/10/08 - Show! Chris DeCaro will be the stand-up opener for Pablo Francisco! Tonight, March 10, 2008 in the Grand Ballroom of Stamp Student Union at 7:30 pm (doors open at 7). As it's not a Bureau show, it cost some $... $15 to be exact. Tickets can be purchased at the Hoff Box Office.
- 03/07/08 - Show! The Bureau will be having our first show of the semester tonight, March 3, 2008 in the Atrium of Stamp Student Union at 9 pm. Be sure to get there early as it's gonna be packed!
- 02/21/08 - Welcome new members! The Bureau welcomes our newbies from our most recent auditon: Nathan Yaffe, Tinsley Stokes, Andy Routledge, and Rachel Mazza. These hilarious individuals are sure to bring fresh ideas and performances to the group. Check them out on our bios page!
- 02/02/08 - Upcoming Auditons! The Bureau will be holding auditions for the Spring 2008 Semester on Sunday, February 10, 2008. Check our auditions page for more information!
- 9/12/07 - The Bureau's "Back To School" show, held on the first day of
the UMD's First-Look Fair, will be on Wednesday, September 19th at 8pm in the
Atrium in Stamp Student Union. Auditions for The Bureau are Thursday,
September 20th in the basement of LaPlata Hall at 7pm. More details

- 6/15/07 - The Bureau's first show of 07-08 will be the New Resident Orientation in August. The calendar page has more details here.
- 4/22/07 - In case you haven't heard, The Bureau's end-of-semester shows will be on May 3 at 9pm and May 5 at 8pm. Sketch first, as always, and stand-up and improv on Saturday. The calendar page has more details here.
- 3/11/07 - We want to welcome the three newest members of the group, Dori Polis, Annie Folks, and John Bonacci. The selection process took over a week, and we had the strongest auditioning class in the history of The Bureau, so we want to extend our thanks to everyone who came out to auditions. More on Dori, Annie, and John will soon be available on our bios page here.
- 2/24/07 - Auditions for The Bureau are Sunday, March 4th AND Tuesday, March 6th. Auditionees only need to attend one date. Both auditions begin at 6pm in the Armory. More details about auditions are available here.
- 2/23/07 - 9 members of The Bureau competed in the 4th Annual District's Funniest College Competition - University of Maryland. Of the 14 stand-up contestants, two finalists were chosen to represent Maryland in the finals at the DC Improv on April 11 - Sketchup's Colin Hogan and The Bureau's Andy LoPresto.
