Auditions
We hold auditions a minimum of once every academic year, and usually once a semester depending on the size and needs of the group. The audition process consists of two segments - the first audition and callbacks.
Audition date for Fall 2008:
- Thursday, September 18th, 6:00pm in The Armory, Room 0112 (look for signs!!)
Who We're Looking For
We are always looking for well-rounded performers, creative people, technical people, but above all, funny people. Some of the skills we look for are:
- Sketch (theatre) performance
- Improv
- Stand-up
- Writing (scene and joke)
- Musical talent
- Technical skills (audio & video equipment, digital recording, lighting)
- Desire to have fun
What We Look At
The first night(s) of auditions emphasize improv and performance skills. Everything the first night occurs in a group setting, so first-time auditionees should not worry about being singled out. We look for creativity, humor, and a number of intanglibles. No experience is necessary and we encourage anyone interested to come audition, as everyone has a good time.
The Next Step
Select auditionees will receive an invitation to callbacks, usually one week later. Callbacks are when we look for more specific skills and try to determine how the auditionees would fit into the group. We work on collaborative writing, performance, and more improv. This is also when individual skills (such as stand-up or musical talent, if applicable) are demonstrated.
